Ankur graduated UC Berkeley with a BA in Molecular Cell Biology with an emphasis in Cellular and Developmental Biology. He has always held a strong passion for providing equal access to education to all students regardless of their social class or race. He was president of a UC Berkeley club called PEACE that offered free one-on-one tutoring services to undergraduate students. Ankur was been involved in a research lab in Children’s Hospital of Oakland Research Institute (CHORI), and specifically worked on basal cell carcinoma in mice. His other interests include playing basketball, chess, and hiking.
